Project Work Presentations
On a Friday and Saturday we had a project work presentations of each museum. Youth from Finland presented their work by the power point presentations they had made especially for the conference. They all did a good job and their documentaries rise up a many questions and interest in the audience.
The common goal of the Finnish youth documentation work is to chance the misleading ideas of the Sámi culture and to show people that their life´s as a “city Sámi” aren’t necessarily any different than the Finnish majority´s.
Ola showed us a video clip of his sailing hobby. The others told their work with the text and photos. Mihkal´s work is of he´s and he´s relative´s relation to the small village of Kuttura (Guhtur) in Lapland. The others are showing in their documentaries mainly their everyday life´s in their home towns and visits to Sámi relatives in Sámi areas. In spite the common goal they all have a different perspective to approaching their subject that is their everyday life. Youth are presently working with their films and the final results will be seen later.
